To the Friends of the Reformation Society - 18 July 2019

Dear Friends

Greetings in the precious Name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Reformation or Revolution

Please tune in tonight to From the Frontline podcast on www.FrontlineMissionSA.org. It will be uploaded and available on our http://fromthefrontline.podbean.com/ from 21:00 tonight, Tuesday, 16 July. Last Sunday marked the 230th anniversary of the launch of the French Revolution. Many in France celebrated it as Bastille Day. This coming Thursday, 18 July, many will be celebrating Mandela Day, which has been declared an international event by the United Nations. How should we as Christians respond to these idolatrous attempts to create a secular religion? The most condemned sin in Scripture is idolatry. The middle verse of the Bible is: “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.” Psalm 118:8.

We are at this time participating in the Coalition on Revival Global Reformation Conference broadcast and livestream (15-20 July). Professor Martin Luther declared: “If I profess with the loudest voice and clearest exposition every portion of the truth of God, except precisely that point which the world and the devil are at the moment attacking, I am not confessing Christ, however boldly I may be professing Him. Where the battle rages, there the loyalty of the soldier is proved. And to be steady on all the battlefield besides is merely flight and disgrace, if he flinches at that point.” It is vital for us to respond with Christian clarity and Biblical faithfulness to the many challenges of our age. We have a clear choice before us: Reformation or Revolution? “…Should you help the wicked and love those who hate the Lord? Therefore the wrath of the Lord is upon you.” 2 Chronicles 19:2
