Dear Friends

Greetings in the precious Name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Missionary to Zimbabwe

Please tune in tonight, Tuesday, 1 November at 9:15pm, to Radio Tygerberg 104FM. For our Salt and Light programme Rev. John Clifford will interview Rev. David Frew about Zimbabwe. "Those countries that enjoy the most civil liberty are those societies where the Gospel of Christ has penetrated the most. The worst violence and oppression in the world today is raging where Biblical principles have been rejected or neglected." (Tom Barlow, South Africa: Renaissance or Reformation?). Why is Zimbabwe in such a sad state? The real question is rather: How deep did the Gospel penetrate the lives of Zimbabweans? Is there hope for Zimbabwe?

"Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; but its leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit. Jeremiah 17:7-8

If you live in Cape Town, you can tune in to Radio Tygerberg 104FM, or you can listen online at www.104FM.org.za, through live streaming worldwide.

Martin Luther Changed the World

Please join us this Thursday, 3 November, at 7pm for tea and fellowship, and at 7:30pm as I present the extraordinary Life and Legacy of Martin Luther and how his Reformation Changed the World.

The Protestant Reformation launched by Professor Martin Luther, 31 October 1517, produced the most productive, prosperous and free nations in the history of the world. The Reformation was one of the most momentous turning points in world history. It was led by men of strong faith, deep convictions, great intelligence, high moral standards and tremendous courage. Towering above all these great Reformers, Dr. Martin Luther stands out as the most courageous, controversial and influential Reformer of all time. Martin Luther was a controversial figure in his day and has continued to be considered controversial to this very day. There is no doubt that Luther's search for peace with God, changed the whole course of human history. Luther challenged the power of Rome over the Christian Church, smashed the chains of superstition and tyranny and restored Christian liberty to worship God in Spirit and in truth.

"For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to Salvation for everyone who believes for in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, the just shall live by Faith." Romans 1:16-17

International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted

"Remember the prisoners as if chained with them" Hebrews 13:3 and "In as much as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me." Matthew 25:40. Sunday, 13 November, is the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted. Livingstone Fellowship will be holding a special IDOP service at 11am on Sunday, 13 November. Over 400 million Christians live in the 67 countries in the world which severely restrict, or persecute believers.

May God continue to be your strength and shield.

Yours for Reformation and Revival

Dr. Peter Hammond
