Dear Friends

Greetings in the precious Name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Learning from the Persecuted

Please tune in tonight to From the Frontline podcast on www.FrontlineMissionSA.org. It will be uploaded and available on our http://fromthefrontline.podbean.com/ from 21:00 tonight, Tuesday, 25 June. There is so much that we can learn from the Persecuted Church. Yes, they need our prayers and support. We are commanded: “Remember the prisoners as if chained with them…” Hebrews 13:3 and “in as much as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me.” Matthew 25:40. But, we also need to remember these precious brothers and sisters in Christ, who have gone through the fires of tribulation, have much to teach us. What are some of the lessons we can learn from Christians who have endured years of persecution? “And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honoured, all the members rejoice with it. Now you are the body of Christ and members individually.” 1 Corinthians 12:26-27

Assassination in Sarajevo – The Spark that Initiated the First World War

Please join us this Thursday, 27 June, at 19:00 for tea and fellowship and at 19:30 for a presentation on the assassination in Sarajevo that led to the First World War. Last week we had a presentation on the signing of the Versailles Treaty, 28 June 1919 – 100 Years ago. That was specifically timed to coincide with the Fifth anniversary of the assassination of heir to the Austrian throne, Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie, by Serbian terrorists, 28 June 1914. Considering the catastrophic consequences of that assassination in Sarajevo, 105 years ago, it is remarkable how little is generally known about that fateful day and what led up to it. Security personnel can learn no ends of lessons of what not to do from the catalogue of security failures of that fateful day. 28 June was a date carefully chosen by the Serbian terrorists as a date of the most historic significance... “Now these things became our examples, to the intent that we should not lust after evil things as they also lusted…. Now all these things happened to them as examples and they were written for our admonition…” 1 Corinthians 10:6-11
